'Star Wars: Episode 8' Release Date, Cast, & More Details!

Now that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters everywhere, fans are probably wanting to know more about the next movie in the franchise – Star Wars: Episode VIII!

There is almost exactly one year left to go until the movie is released as it will storm into theaters on December 15, 2017. One thing we’re still waiting for is the official title, but we’ll probably have to wait until Rogue One hype dies down a little until we get more details.

Rian Johnson, best known for his work on the movie Looper and the television series Breaking Bad, has written and directed the upcoming film. Production on Episode VIII took place at the UK’s Pinewood Studios from February until July this year.

It is rumored that Tom Hardy is going to be making a special appearance in the film as a Stormtrooper, but that has not yet been confirmed.

I’ll watch this but after seeing Rogue One and seeing Darth Vader for the first time in my life on the silver screen in IMAX and seeing all these glimpses of his life as the Sith Lord – I am far more interested and desperately want to see a Darth Vader movie.

Kylo Ren is no Darth Vader and he never will be. Plus I would LOVE to see Ahsoka in live action and fighting Vader… Ep 8 is just not Star Wars and neither was 7.

Here’s hope there is an extended directors cut of Rogue One in the works with more Darth Vader scenes.

Just curious – How did Mr. Jones do in his reprisal?

I never got to see Vader on the silver screens before as I was either not born yet or too young to even go to the movies at all; so all I had was my TV screen and the DVD’s and honestly?

He sounds EXACTLY the same as if he were like still a young man voice acting the first Star wars movies. He was right on target like it never left him; and I finally got that feeling my old man used to talk about when he heard James Earl Jones voice as Vader for the first time.

I am so happy you have no idea. I never knew how much I had actually been waiting for Darth Vader to return. It was just amazing. I can’t wait till they make a Darth Vader stand alone movie….I got to see Darth Vader on IMAX… I’m so happy.

I’ll be watching it again just for Darth Vader.

I went with low expectations after the disappointment that was Force Awakens, not a bad film but not as good as people made it seem, and now I can say Rouge One was definitely better. Amazing visual effects, characters and story, I wished they had revived the franchise with this one instead of TFA, I hope the Han Solo movie ends up being as good as this one.

You got a serious hard-on for Darth Vader. They’re not going to make a Vader stand alone movie. Vader’s story has already been told.
