Tom Holland Is Ready to See More Diversity in Marvel Movies

Tom Holland is the star of the new Marvel movie Spider-Man: Far From Home and he’s opening up about bringing diversity to the film franchise.

The 23-year-old actor was asked if he thinks the world is ready for a superhero who identifies as LGBTQ.

“Yeah of course,” he told the Sunday Times. “I can’t talk about the future of the character because honestly I don’t know and it’s out of my hands. But I do know a lot about the future of Marvel, and they are going to be representing lots of different people in the next few years.”

“The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy,” he added. “It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person.”

There have been reports that Marvel is actively searching for an actor to play a gay superhero.
