Bear Grylls Went Into Anaphylactic Shock During Filming, Saved by Medics

Adventurer Bear Grylls had to be saved by medics after a life-threatening allergic reaction to a bee sting.

The 45-year-old Running Wild with Bear Grylls star went into anaphylactic shock while filming his series Treasure Island.

At first, Bear kept shooting, but it was soon obvious that needed help right away.

“I think that Bear is an impressive guy,” said Mano Shanmug-anathan, a brain surgeon on the island (via The Blast). “He understands his tasks at hand and knows what he has to achieve. The irony of Bear the survivalist being stung, having the potential of an allergic reaction, and needing to be treated with an EpiPen, was a bizarre moment. That was crazy!”

“Training hard,” Bear shared in his Instagram Stories. “Thanks for the many kind messages… I’m all good!” He included a bee GIF and a winking face emoji.

We’re glad Bear Grylls is OK! Catch Treasure Island next month.
