Is 'Locke & Key' Getting a Season 2 on Netflix? Showrunner Talks Ideas!
Locke and Key is a brand new television series that debuted on Netflix this weekend and all signs point to it becoming on of the streaming service’s new hit shows.
The new series, which has been in development for years, currently has one season and fans are probably wondering if they can expect a second season.
“There’s definitely more to the story,” showrunner Carlton Cuse said in an interview with TheWrap. “The fact that there’s this big communication gap between our kids and our adults is one of the big central metaphors of our show. The idea of being a kid and not being able to communicate effectively with your parents is metaphorically dramatized by the fact that the kids experience magic and Nina, their mother, can’t. But there is definitely more to the story and in the comics there is more to the story, and that’s something which we’re for sure exploring in great detail in Season 2 — presuming that we get picked up.”
Netflix hasn’t yet ordered the second season, but seeing as the show is getting great responses from both critics and viewers, a season two seems inevitable.
Here’s the show’s synopsis: “After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them.”
