James Corden to Pay Furloughed ‘Late Late Show’ Staff Amid Pandemic

Starting next week, James Corden will pay the salaries of about 60 furloughed production staffers on The Late Late Show out of his own pocket, likely to be mid-five figures weekly.

Variety reports that CBS covered the first eight weeks of salary for staffers after the coronavirus outbreak but that comes to an end this week.

The 41-year-old British host has been hosting and producing The Late Late Show from his garage in Los Angeles since April 14. The show has been on a short hiatus as James just had a minor eye surgery. Normally, they film at CBS Television City off of Fairfax.
