The Weeknd Donates $500,000 to Black Lives Matter Causes, Urges All with Big Pockets to Give

The Weeknd has announced that he has donated $500,000 to various causes that are part of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The 30-year-old singer and Uncut Gems actor took to his Instagram page to share the receipts of the donations he made on June 1.

“keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives. Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it’s a small amount,” The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, captioned his post.

He donated $200,0000 to Black Lives Matter Global Network, $200,000 to Colin Kaepernick‘s Know Your Rights campaign, and $100,000 to National Bail Out.
