4. Jacob Blake

In August 2020, Jacob S. Blake, a 29-year-old African American man, was shot and seriously injured by police in Wisconsin. His three children were in the backseat of the car at the time. According to Wikipedia, he was “paralyzed from the waist down and that doctors do not yet know if it would be permanent. He also suffered a gunshot wound to one arm and damage to his stomach, kidney, and liver; he had to have most of his small intestines and colon removed.”
