Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Got Married Three Days Before Their Televised Wedding

Meghan Markle is opening up about her wedding to Prince Harry.

The 39-year-old Duchess revealed during her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey that she and her husband married in a private ceremony three days before the royal wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018.

“Three days before our wedding, we got married,” Meghan told Oprah. “No one knows this,” she added.

Meghan shared that she and Harry wanted to have a private moment before their formal wedding ceremony that was televised. The pair were married by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the backyard.

“Just the three of us,” Prince Harry laughed.

Meghan and Harry‘s wedding was the most viewed royal wedding to date. Approximately 29.2 million Americans watched the royal wedding in 2018, which was broadcast over 19 different networks.

Some of the celebrity guests in attendance included Priyanka Chopra, Idris Elba, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, James Corden and Serena Williams.
