Meghan Markle Will Not Attend Prince Philip's Funeral, Sources Explain Why

It has been confirmed that Meghan Markle will not fly to England with her husband Prince Harry to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on Friday morning (April 9) at the age of 99.

Harry and Meghan have been living in Southern California for the past year and he will be traveling home to be with his family during the funeral.

Sources are explaining why Meghan will not be in attendance.

Royal editor Omid Scobie reported for Harper’s Bazaar that a source said, “The Duchess has made every effort to travel alongside The Duke, but unfortunately, she did not receive medical clearance from her physician.”

Harry is confirmed to attend the funeral and he will be “following COVID-19 protocols for travel.” The funeral will take place on Saturday, April 17 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
