Anderson Cooper Explains Why He Was Recently 'Really Pissed' at Ex Benjamin Maisani as They Co-Parent Son Wyatt

Anderson Cooper isn’t holding back!

During his appearance on The Stephen Colbert Show on Wednesday night (June 16), the 54-year-old CNN anchor admitted he was recently “really pissed” at ex Benjamin Maisani, whom he is raising his 13-month-old son Wyatt with.

“So, just for the first time, I was away in Israel last week,” Anderson recalled. “It was my first work trip for 60 Minutes and I was doing an interview and I get this text from Wyatt’s other dad, Benjamin, and he said, ‘He just walked!!’”

Instead of being excited, Anderson joked that his “reaction was fury.”

“I got really pissed at Benjamin,” Anderson continued, adding that he couldn’t believe he had missed Wyatt‘s major milestone.

“In my household when I grew up, you would lie about everything, so he should have just lied,” Anderson said with a laugh. “He should have lied and said, ‘Oh no, he’s not walking at all,’ so when I got home and he walked, we’d be like, ‘Oh my god! It’s the first walk.’”

Since that first moment, Anderson has seen Wyatt walk, saying he walks “like a drunken sailor.”

Despite splitting up in 2018, Anderson and Benjamin are raising Wyatt together.
