Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (in Dolce&Gabbana) speak on stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The Twilight hunks were joined by their co-stars Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, and Jackson Rathbone to introduce a brand new clip from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Rashida Jones hits the red carpet in style as she arrives at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old actress posed for pics with her Celeste and Jesse Forever co-star Andy Samberg before heading inside for the award show.

During part of the show, the actors watched as Rebel Wilson took the stage in a bikini-printed t-shirt as she introduced the Best Female Video nominees with The Wanted (all in head-to-toe Tommy Hilfiger).

Alicia Keys commands the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The 31-year-old singer performed the Inferno version of her song “Girl On Fire” along with Nicki Minaj, who picked up the award for Best Female Video that evening.

Taylor Swift wears stripes for her performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old singer performed her hit new single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and even stage dived at the end of the song!

Taylor‘s song was just bumped off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 by Flo Rida‘s “Whistle”. It now sits at number two.

Frank Ocean hits the stage during his performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old singer and rapper sang his heart out as he performed a stripped-down version of “Thinkin Bout You” from his debut album Channel Orange.

“The VMAs remind me of prom,” Frank wrote on his Twitter account.

Frank was nominated for three awards including Best New Artist but lost to One Direction.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson stand together during their performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.

One Direction hopped on stage and sang their hearts out as they performed their hit single “One Thing” and picked up the awards for Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for “What Makes You Beautiful.”

“Guys u are unbelievable! Cannot believe what’s going on!,” Niall wrote on his Twitter account. “Thank you soo much for everything! love.”

Crystal Reed keeps it classy on the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards held at Staples Center on Thursday (September 6) in Los Angeles.
