Paris Jackson is speaking out after not attending the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, where her aunt Janet Jackson received the Icon Award.

The 20-year-old actress shared a (now deleted) statement on her Instagram Story on Monday (May 21) in response to the public’s questioning of her whereabouts during the awards show.

“No one from my mgmt reached out to me about attending billboards or about the award, and no one from my family did either. I had absolutely no idea until y’all spammed with hatred,” she wrote.

“Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demand/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family. As amazing and as s—-y as things can be, it is no one’s business but ours. I understand that some of you feel some sort of connection or need to be apart (sic) of our lives considering you watched us grow up. However, I am handling my situation exactly how my father did. And I am happy keeping it that way. I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS,” she added.

Later, Paris shared a picture with her aunt Janet on Tuesday (May 22).

“Congrats auntie! you earned it <3,” she captioned the post. See below!

It has been nearly a year and a half since Camila Cabello has been seen publicly with a member of Fifth Harmony, but that all changed when she reunited with Normani at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards!

The former groupmates happily posed for some photos backstage at the event on Sunday night (May 20) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Camila was at the show as a nominee and to perform her songs “Sangria Wine” and “Havana.” She also picked up the award for Billboard Chart Achievement! Normani hit the stage for a performance of “Love Lies” with Khalid.

Love seeing these two together again and looking so happy!

Darren Criss posted a funny video to his Twitter account, where his view was blocked by Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards!

During Shawn Mendes‘ performance of “In My Blood,” Camila and Taylor were standing and watching.

Darren posted a video of him jokingly saying, “Uh Miss…excuse me, Miss!” he said. “Miss, I can’t see! I’m trying to watch Shawn Mendes!”

It was an epic way to close out the 2018 Billboard Music Awards!

At the end of the show, Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella performed some of their biggest hits including “Let’s Talk About Sex” and “Push It.”

En Vogue’s Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Rhona Bennett later came on stage to join the stars and perform “Whatta Man.”

Camila Cabello and Pharrell Williams brought the house down with their performance of “Sangria Wine” at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards!

The pair performed their new duet together at the show, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

Earlier in the evening, Camila took home the prize for Billboard Chart Achievement Award. Congrats again on the big night!!

Macklemore and “> and Kesha hit the stage for their performance during the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 20) at the Toshiba Plaza in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old singer and the 34-year-old rapper performed their hit duet “Good Old Days” while recreating their camp side music video set on stage for their performance.

Sam Hunt flashes his winning smile while on stage at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

The 33-year-old entertainer took how the award for Top Country Song that evening for his smash hit song, “Body Like A Back Road.”

Sam gave a short and sweet acceptance speech after his name was announced and you can watch it below!
