Madonna to Perform New Song at Eurovision 2019 in Israel

Madonna is performing at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest!

The pop icon will hit the stage at the event, which is being hosted in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 18 according to Live Nation Israel.

Madonna will be performing during the halfway mark of the Grand Final of the annual singing competition, and plans to perform both a “back-catalogue favorite” and a new song from her upcoming album.

Early reports from Israeli media claimed that the new song’s themes are “problematic,” thus delaying the negotiations. Plenty of people will be watching: 186 million people tuned in for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

Philanthropist Sylvan Adams reportedly put up $1.35 million to secure Madonna for the performance.

Madonna has been hinting at her forthcoming studio album on her Instagram, teasing the letter “X” as a clue for several days.

2019 Eurovision Song Contest will take place from May 14 to May 18.
