'National Geographic' Publishes Special Issue on Gender Revolution, Celebs Praise the Mag

The entire January 2017 issue of National Geographic is dedicated to the “gender revolution” and people are praising the mag for putting the spotlight on an important issue.

Nine-year-old transgender activist Avery Jackson is on the cover of the issue and she is the first openly trans person on the cover of the mag.

In the issue, Avery opens up about the worst part about being a girl. “How boys always say, ‘That stuff isn’t girl stuff”it’s boy stuff.’ Like when I first did parkour,” she said.

She also shared the best thing. “The best thing about being a girl is, now I don’t have to pretend to be a boy,” she said.

Jaime King took to her Instagram to praise the issue. “Our children radiate truth, empathy and Light. This cover, this moment- we honor all generations, our little ones, and @natgeo for conceptualizing and following through with this cover & article. I know it’s not easy these days being love and spreading deeper understanding but you did. WE THANK YOU ✨’✨’✨’✨’,” she wrote.

Social media influencer Aidan Alexander also tweeted about it. See below!
