Dannielynn Birkhead hits the red carpet alongside dad Larry Birkhead a the 2019 Kentucky Derby on Saturday afternoon (May 4) at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

The 12-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith donned a stunning pink dress and matching hat while her dad sported a coordinating pink suit for the event.

Ahead of the event, Larry took to Twitter to reveal that Dannielynn is wearing Anna‘s hat.

“Kentucky Derby time once again. Dannielynn looks pretty in pink in her dress by Junona and her Mom’s hat from her unforgettable appearance at The Kentucky Derby in 2004,” Larry tweeted.

The night before, Dannielynn and Larry attended a pre-Kentucky Derby together.

Each year, the father-daughter duo attend Kentucky Derby events, where Larry and Anna met for the first time in 2003.

Anna, a former Playboy model and reality TV star, passed away in 2007.

Dannielynn looked so pretty in a yellow, tulle high-low dress with roses on it and fuschia-colored sandals while Larry sported a blue suit and colorful tie for the party.

Each year, the father-daughter duo attend Kentucky Derby events, where Larry and Anna met for the first time in 2003.

Anna, a former Playboy model and reality TV star, passed away in 2007.

The 10-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith makes an annual appearance alongside her father at the derby, where her parents met for the first time in 2003.

Larry took to Twitter that morning to share a photo of him and Dannielynn at a party the night before, the same one where he met Anna.

“Dannielynn b4 she raided the dessert room at the Barnstable-Brown Party where I met her Mom in 2003 #lifefullcircle #BarnstableBrownParty,” he captioned the below photo.

It has been ten years now since Anna Nicole Smith passed away after an accidental overdose and her 10-year-old daughter Dannielynn Birkhead is speaking out in a new interview for 20/20.

Dannielynn has been raised by her father Larry Birkhead and he says that his daughter resembles her mom. “She could work me like her mother could work people,” he said. “She gets what she wants.”

During the interview, Dannielynn expressed her love for travel. “I want to go to Washington D.C. so bad! I want to see all the monuments,” she said.

Larry shared a letter that Dannielynn wrote in which she explained why she loves to color.

“Ever since my mother’s death, a friend of hers said she would send me pretty butterflies,” she wrote in the letter. “So, butterflies chase me everywhere and I let the butterfly come out of my pencil and fly on my paper with its wings of love.”

The nine-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith and Larry, 43, have attended the horse racing event for six years. They currently live in rural Kentucky.

Anna Nicole and Larry met in 2004 at a Kentucky Derby party, so the event holds some special significance. Anna Nicole died in 2007 from an accidental drug overdose.

Anna Nicole Smith‘s daughter Dannielynn Birkhead and her father Larry Birkhead make their annual appearance at the 2015 Kentucky Derby on Saturday afternoon (May 2) at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kent.

The eight-year-old little one looked all grown up in her cute pink outfit!

“It took me two months to get my daughter’s outfit together – shopping, and mixing and matching,” Larry told reporters for the Courier-Journal about Dannielynn‘s outfit.

“I have told her from a young age, ‘Mom’s in heaven,’ she understands that,” Larry told E! News about how he explains her mom’s death to Dannielynne. “She’s pretty satisfied with the stories that I give her at this moment.”
