Tom Hanks Stands Near Distant Cousin Abraham Lincoln's Memorial During 'Celebrating America' Event

Tom Hanks is keeping close to family during the first Celebrating America television event, following Joe Biden‘s Presidential Inauguration on Wednesday (January 20).

The 64-year-old actor stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, which is honor of his distant cousin and 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. They are related through Abraham‘s mother, Nancy Hanks.

During his introduction on the program, Tom echoed Biden‘s speech earlier in the day, urging for unity in the country.

“The last few weeks, last few years, we’ve witnessed deep divisions and a troubling rancor in our land. But tonight we ponder the United States of America. The practice of our democracy, the foundations of our republic, the integrity of our constitution, the hope and dreams we all share for a more perfect union,” Tom shared.

He continued, “Inauguration Day is about much more than the swearing in of our next national leaders. This day is about witnessing the permanence of our American ideal. Every four years we hear the words that will empower us all on the journey ahead, the message that can unite us, as we begin a new passage from where we are to where we can be. A trek to a common goal, to the promise of our promised land.”

Many more artists are slated to perform in the special, including Tim McGraw, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Katy Perry and more.

Stay tuned for their performances!

Joe Biden's POTUS Twitter Account Is Only Following One Celebrity

Joe Biden officially took over the POTUS Twitter account hours before being sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.

The account was reset by Twitter after being suspended in the final weeks of former President Donald Trump.

Trump had been suspended from the platform for seven days due to inciting violence, and then was banned permanently.

Now, Biden and his team have taken over the account and it’s been revealed that he’s now following just 11 accounts. This might change shortly, but for the moment there are only 11 accounts there.

Most of them are aides, including Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary, Brian Deese, Director of National Economic Council, Susan Rice, the Domestic Policy Advisor, and a few others.

Of the 11 accounts, there is only one celebrity.

Rihanna Celebrates President Biden's Inauguration With Cheeky Photo Taking Out the Trash

Rihanna is celebrating Joe Biden‘s big day with an interesting post!

Just hours after Biden was sworn in as the new President of the United States on Wednesday (January 20), the 32-year-old entertainer shared a photo on Instagram from her September cover shoot with Harper’s Bazaar of herself taking out the trash.

“I’m just here to help. 🤷🏾‍♀️,” Rihanna captioned the post along with the hashtag, “#wediditJoe.”

In the photo, Rihanna carries two large trash bags while wearing an “end racism by any means necessary” T-shirt, black briefs, and pink heels.

The post obviously seems like a dig against former President Donald Trump who had to move out of the White House since he is no longer president.

Over the years, Rihanna has been very vocal in her opposition of Trump. Back in August 2019, Rihanna put Trump on blast for his lack of gun control following two mass shootings in the country.
