Kevin Zegers is all smiles at the photo call for his new TV mini-series, Titanic: Blood and Steel, held at La Rai on Friday (April 20) in Rome, Italy.

The 27-year-old actor was accompanied by his co-stars Valentina Corti, Alessandra Mastronardi, Massimo Ghini, and Edoardo Leo.

Titanic: Blood and Steel details how the luxury liner was built in Belfast by the White Star Lines over 15 years from 1897, and at a cost of 105 lives. A pre-Titanic story, if you will!

The film comes out this fall!

Kevin Zegers and Hayden Panettiere have both signed on for exciting new acting projects!

The 27-year-old Titanic: Blood & Steel actor is attached to star in a new independent film titled The Colony. Kevin will play alongside Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton “in the feature about a group of survivors in the aftermath of a future Ice Age who live…in a society that disintegrates into cannibalism and violence,” according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, Hayden, 22, is headed back to the small screen to shoot the pilot of Nashville, an ABC drama. Hayden will play a country music teen sensation who teams up with a fading star.

Molly Shannon, 47, just landed a recurring role on the HBO show Enlightened, which stars Laura Dern! Molly will play a loyal assistant.

Funnyman Dane Cook, 39, just signed on for the NBC comedy Next Caller Please, where he will play a brash and hard-edged radio DJ whose world is turned upside down when a feminist takes his co-host chair.

Liam Hemsworth and Kevin Zegers suit up for the 2012 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards held at Soho House on Friday (January 27) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Aussie actor Joel Edgerton, who’ll next appear in The Great Gatsby, also came out for the inaugural event, which recognizes “film excellence regardless of geography, as determined by a jury of eminent Australian screen practitioners from a cross-section of crafts,” according to a press release.

“Some 70 years since our American friends first awarded Australians with an Oscar, and with Australians since awarded more than 60 Oscars and BAFTAs, it’s great that the Australian industry now has the opportunity to formally recognise the outstanding work of our international colleagues through the AACTA International Awards,” AACTA President Geoffrey Rush said.

Kevin Zegers and Chris Noth get into character at the photo call for their new television series Titanic: Blood and Steel on Wednesday (November 9) in Dublin, Ireland.

The actors were joined by their lovely traditionally dressed co-star Neve Campbell!

The show will detail how the luxury liner was built in Belfast by the White Star Lines for more than 15 years and at a cost of more than 100 lives.

It is set to debut in 2012.

Neve Campbell, Chris Noth, and Kevin Zegers are in talks to star in Blood and Steel, a miniseries based on the story of the Titanic!

According to Variety, Neve will play a reporter covering the ship’s first voyage, while Chris will play financier J.P. Morgan.

The miniseries takes a different look at the ill-fated ship, focusing on the design and building on the ship against class issues in Northern Ireland, “where financial pressures led to fatal compromises.”

The series is set to air next spring, at the same time as the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

Here’s the synopsis: “Two estranged childhood friends channel their talent and passion for music into a cross-country road trip that brings them face to face with their past on a quest to confront the future. Spyder (Zegers), a world famous musician whose debut album is a huge hit, retreats to his hometown after his sophomore effort flops. There he reconnects with his former friend and collaborator, Eric Genson (Ritter), now a middle school music teacher. It’s a reunion that forces the two to recall their youthful ambitions and re-examine the choices they’ve made.”

The film hits theaters on August 5.
