'Superstore' Actor Nico Santos' Step-Dad Has Died From Coronavirus

Nico Santos is mourning the loss of his step-dad, Sonny, has he has passed away from coronavirus.

The Superstore actor revealed the sad news on his Twitter, revealing that it’s heartbreaking not to be able to comfort his mom or brother over their loss, and that his mom is actually battling the virus herself.

“For the time being, she has not required hospitalization,” Nico shared. “The loss of my stepfather is devastation but what has gutted me is taht this pandemic has kept my family apart.”

He added, “I can’t hold my mother as she mourns her husband. I can’t hug my brother as he contemplates a world without his father…”

“I want to thank everyone of you who offered up prayers, love and assistance to our family during this difficult time. Please continue to pray and send healing energy to my mom…Rest in Peace Tito Sonny. I love you.”

Animated 'Mulan' Star Ming-Na Wen Steals The Spotlight at Live-Action 'Mulan' Premiere

Ming-Na Wen looks so gorgeous in a tapestry like gown at the premiere of Mulan held at Dolby Theatre on Monday night (March 9) in Hollywood.

The 56-year-old actress was the voice of the character in the 1998 animated film.

Ming-Na was joined by American Housewife stars Carly Hughes and Meg Donnelly, Lana Condor, Chrissy Metz, Jaimie Alexander, Amy Brenneman, Missi Pyle, Alexis Knapp, Kimora Lee Simmons, Dania Ramirez, and Superstore‘s Nico Santos.

Disney+ stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Sofia Wylie, Dara Renee, and Matt Cornett were also at the event along with Auli’i Cravalho, Modern Family‘s Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Ever Carradine, Angela Kinsey, beauty influencers Patrick Starrr and Bretman Rock, and cute couple Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah.

'Superstore' Gets Renewed for Season 6 at NBC

Superstore has been renewed for season six!

NBC made the announcement on Tuesday (February 11), Variety reports.

The series is currently in its fifth season.

“We’re thrilled that Superstore continues to speak to many important and topical issues while simultaneously being hilarious,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment.

The single-camera comedy takes a look at the lives of employees at a big box store called Cloud 9.

It stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Bloom, and Mark McKinney.

Superstore was created by Justin Spitzer, who serves as an executive producer alongside America, director Ruben Fleischer, David Bernad, Gabe Miller, and Jonathan Green.

The 33-year-old Catch‑22 actor and the 48-year-old The Red Line star attended the event held on Sunday (January 12) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Both men are nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for their work on the respective shows.

They were joined by fellow nominee Jared Harris (Chernobyl).

Also in attendance was Best Actor in a Comedy Series nominee Walton Goggins (The Unicorn), as well as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominees Henry Winkler and Anthony Carrigan (Barry), and Nico Santos (Superstore) with his co-star Lauren Ash.

The L Word: Generation Q cast are celebrating their big premiere!

The stars of the series – Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Katherine Moennig, Sepideh Moafi, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Fortune Feimster, Jordan Hull, Leo Sheng, Brian Michael Smith, Freddy Miyares and Stephanie Allynne – all got together to celebrate on the red carpet at the premiere held at Regal LA Live on Monday (December 2) in Los Angeles.

The leading cast were also joined by showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan, as well as producers Ilene Chaiken and Allyce Ozarski.
