Earlier in the week, Ronda helped host Reebok’s Inspirational Women luncheon, where she opened up about her UFC loss.

“When it comes to challenges, I honestly believe that things happen for a reason. At the time, yes, it’s hard on a personal [and] emotional level, and it’s hard to look past what’s happening to the future, but you have to believe in yourself – because down the line in two, five, ten years’ time, you’ll look back and think that was actually the best thing that ever happened to me,” she explained.

Holly Holm Responds to Ronda Rousey's Suicide Comments

Holly Holm, the UFC fighter who knocked out Ronda Rousey last year in a shocking defeat, is now responding to the comments that she was suicidal after the loss.

“There’s a lot of things around that. When I heard that she said that, for me it’s one of those things it’s like, ‘How do I respond to that?’” the 34-year-old fighter said (via TMZ). “I don’t want to say I’m sorry because I think on a competitive level for me, if somebody was to say they’re sorry after [beating me], it’s like, ‘No, I’m a competitor.’ I’m not a charity case.”

“I don’t want to say that I’m glad that she felt that way and I don’t want to say, ‘Oh I’m so sorry.’ It’s something I think that you have to dig through on your own. In the long run, she’ll be stronger mentally from it,” Holly added.

If you missed it, while appearing on The Ellen Show, Ronda talked about her suicidal thoughts post-fight.

Ronda Rousey Considered Suicide After Holly Holm UFC Loss (Video)

Ronda Rousey sits down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on the Ellen Show, airing today (February 16).

The 29-year-old UFC fighter told Ellen that she considered killing herself after being knocked out by Holly Holm last year.

“I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a s–t about me anymore without this,’” Ronda said. “To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.”

“I was like why did this happen? I do believe all the best things come from the worst things,” Ronda continued. “Every worst thing that happened in my life resulted in the absolute best things and I tried to think what is the reason of all this and I’m thinking like what my actual purpose is and maybe just winning all the time isn’t what’s best for everybody.”
