Revenge of the Nerds is getting a reboot by Seth McFarlane!

The 47-year-old Family Guy creator is developing a reboot of the ’80s comedy at 20th Century Studios, Variety reported Wednesday (December 16).

Keith and Kenny Lucas will write and star in the film, co-writing the script with Alex Rubens.

Here’s what we know so far, via the outlet: “The upcoming version won’t be a remake of the 1984 comedy, which hasn’t aged all that well and has been criticized in recent years for depictions of rape. Instead, the contemporary reimagining will pontificate about today’s nerd culture and what even constitutes a geek in the 21st century.”

The original comedy followed a group of college nerds who battled with the jock fraternity, the Alpha Betas, leading to sequels and TV movies.

One popular series is also getting rebooted, and an original star reacted to the news.
