Who Won 'Survivor' Season 44? 2023 Winner Revealed!

The season finale of Survivor aired last night and we’re breaking down exactly what happened in the finale.

The episode began with five players still left in the game: Carolyn, Yam Yam, Carson, Lauren and Heidi. Eventually, Lauren was voted out during a normal tribal council vote – the last tribal council of the season.

When it went down to the final four, the season’s last immunity challenge was played. Heidi won, and had to decide who was coming with her to the finale, and who would have to make fire to compete for a spot in the final three.

Heidi chose Carolyn to go to the final three, Carson to participate in the fire making competition, and in a huge surprise, she chose herself to do the fire making competition. This automatically sent Yam Yam to the final three as well.

Heidi and Carson both had to make a fire that was high enough to burn a piece of string, and Heidi eventually won.

So the final three ended up being Heidi, Yam Yam, and Carolyn with Carson being sent home.

'Survivor' Contestant Calls Out Winner-Turned-Politician Nick Wilson for Voting to Pass Anti-Trans & Anti-Gay Legislation

Nick Wilson, the winner of Survivor season 37 and a contestant from the all-winners season 40, is now a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and he’s being called out for voting to pass anti-trans and anti-gay legislation.

The 32-year-old former reality star is currently the state representative from Kentucky’s 82nd District.

Senate Bill 150 has been passed by the Republican-led legislature of Kentucky and it’s being called “one of the most extreme anti-trans measures in the nation,” according to the Courier Journal.

Provisions in the bill include allowing teachers to misgender their students and a ban on gender-affirming medical care for trans youths. Doctors would also be required to detransition children who have already begun undergoing hormone therapy or started taking puberty blockers. Read more of the provisions here.

Now, Survivor 41 contestant Ricard Foyé is speaking out against Nick, who he thought was a friend after spending time together just three months ago.

Ricard is a gay man who is married to a transgender man, who was pregnant at the time of their meeting in December. They sadly lost the baby.
