Beyonce Visits Christ the Redeemer

Beyonce gets in some bonding time with mama Tina Knowles in Rio de Janiero, Brazil on Wednesday afternoon (February 10).

The mother-daughter pair visited the famous 130-foot tall Christ the Redeemer statue, which is considered the largest art deco statue in the world.

Back when Beyonce was in the pop group Destiny’s Child, she shared, “I am about faith and spirituality more so than religion. Doing right by others and not judging. The thing that keeps me grounded is knowing that I’m always protected and that God is in control of things. Even the name of our group, Destiny’s Child, we got out of the Bible. . . For me it is about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what he does for me is something deeply personal. It’s where I came from. I was brought up in a religious household and that’s very important to me.’”

Beyonce is in town to shoot a music video with Alicia Keys called “Put it in a Love Song.”
