Shonda Rhimes: Ellen Pompeo Did 'Beautiful Work' in 'Grey's Anatomy' Finale

Ellen Pompeo has her hands full as she does a little shopping with her adorable daughter Stella, 3, and a guy pal on Saturday afternoon (May 4) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 42-year-old actress was recently praised for her work in the upcoming season nine finale of Grey’s Anatomy by showrunner Shonda Rhimes.

“Ellen did really beautiful work and the story we told is really charged, interesting and strong,” Shonda told THR. “It’s the last way you’d want anybody to ever have to have a baby and that’s Meredith Grey. Things obviously don’t come easy for Meredith Grey.”
