Enrique Iglesias Explains How He Avoided Pitfalls Early in His Career

Enrique Iglesias signs copies of his new album Sex and Love at the Oxford Street HMV on Thursday (March 27) in London, England.

The next day, the 38-year-old entertainer was spotted doing some promo work at a radio station in London.

“You learn a lot, not so much the business aspect of it but how to do deal with [success] if it were to ever happen to you,” Enrique told USA Today about dealing with success at a young age. Enrique released his first album at age 18. “I could just see the lifestyle of how good it could be but also how dangerous it could be and most importantly once you get to a certain level you have to learn to surround yourself with good people and by that I mean people that tell you the truth, people that don’t bullsh*t you, people that are not afraid of being real with you because it’s so easy to believe your own hype.”
