Lea Michele's Songwriter Sia Feared Her Songs Were 'Cheesy'

Lea Michele is all smiles while making her way out of Kate Somerville Skin Health Center on Tuesday afternoon (April 22) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 27-year-old entertainer received some help from singer-songwriter Sia for songs on her new album Louder and now the artist is opening up about the songwriting process.

“Maybe it was because I have a dead boyfriend, too,” Sia told The New York Times about her connection with Lea. “Maybe I have some shame around it. Maybe I’m embarrassed because I’m writing something so cheesy. Then something like that experience will happen, and I’ll realize maybe I’m not as stupid as I thought – and maybe people aren’t as stupid as I think. It occurs to me that there is value to what I do.”
