Patrick Dempsey Held First Dempsey Challenge Since His Mom's Death

Patrick Dempsey carries his own luggage while touching down at LAX Airport on Sunday (October 5) in Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old actor was spotted signing some autographs while heading to his awaiting car at the airport.

Last weekend, Patrick took part in the sixth annual Dempsey Challenge, which benefited the Dempsey Center, allowing it to “provide free support, education and integrative medicine services to anyone impacted by cancer.”

“This year’s Dempsey Challenge is difficult without our mother but she is with us in our hearts and minds,” Patrick said in a statement. “We are reminded of her strength in all of the survivors, friends, patients and family who join us this weekend in celebrating hope.”
