'Star Trek 3' Gets Release Date After Signing Director Justin Lin

It was just announced that Star Trek 3 will hit theaters on July 8, 2016!

The news comes right after the film signed Justin Lin as its new director, replacing Roberto Orci, who exited the project earlier this month.

If you didn’t know, the most recent film, Star Trek: Into Darkness, grossed $467.4 million worldwide after hitting theaters in May 2013. The first film earned $385.7 million in 2009. Both films were directed by J.J. Abrams, who is busy with the upcoming Star Wars franchise.

It is unknown which other films will have the same release date as Star Trek 3. Stay tuned!
