Angelina Jolie's 'Unbroken' Topping Newcomers on Christmas!

Angelina Jolie‘s holiday season is about to get a whole lot merrier – her new movie Unbroken is doing better business than industry experts originally predicted!

The film reportedly is on track to gross $9 to $11 million for Christmas day and it is likely to cross $30 million for the full four day weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Into the Woods is expected to finish Thursday with $9 million and it is in a tight race with Unbroken to be the top newcomer for the weekend. Family films generally don’t do big business on Christmas day, so the musical’s total could rise over the next few days.

The other two big newcomers are The Gambler and Big Eyes, which are expected to make $3-4 million and $1.5 million for the day, respectively.

The Interview, which got a limited release in 300 theaters at the last minute, is on pace to earn $2 million for the full four day weekend. It is also available on demand, which will cannibalize some of the theater traffic.

Strong holdovers that will be big competition this weekend include The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Annie, and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.
