'American Sniper' to Break Records with $105 Million Opening!
American Sniper is set to make a whopping $105.2 million over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend for the biggest winter opening of all time!
According to THR, the Clint Eastwood-directed war drama starring Bradley Cooper expanded nationwide after first debuting on Christmas Day in four theaters.
Coming at No. 2 is expected to be Kevin Hart‘s new comedy The Wedding Ringer, also starring Josh Gad and Kaley Cuoco, which should have a four-day debut of $25 million.
Not far behind will be Paddington, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Bonneville, which may even jump into the second spot with a $25 million opening.
Rounding out the top five should be Taken 3 and Selma, which will bring in $14 million and $9.8 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth‘s Blackhat fell below expectations, coming in at No. 11 for the four-day weekend with $4.6 million.
