Colin Firth's Voice Was Too Mature to Play 'Paddington' Bear
Colin Firth flashes a smile while suiting up at the premiere of Kingsman: The Secret Service on Monday (March 23) in Beijing, China.
The 54-year-old actor was also in attendance at a photo call for the film earlier in the day.
Colin was originally cast as the voice of the lovable title character in the recent hit movie Paddington, but he was recast at the last minute and now producer David Heyman is explaining why.
“When we heard [Colin's] voice coming out of the first animations of Paddington it became clear that he wasn’t the right voice,” David told Yahoo Movies. “He has a beautiful voice but it’s too mature, in a way, for the bear.”
Paddington was a surprise hit at the box office, grossing over $250 million worldwide!
