J.J. Abrams Regrets Not Directing 'Star Wars: Episode VIII'
Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams may be having second thoughts about his decision to not direct further Star Wars sequels.
The 49-year-old director is passing off duties to Rian Johnson and Colin Trevorrow for Episodes VIII and IX respectively, but Star Wars actor Greg Grunberg says J.J. is having regrets.

Greg, who plays X-Wing pilot Snap Wexley and is a lifelong friend of J.J., says the director told him his thoughts about the new script.
“He read it and said something he never, ever says. He said, ‘It’s so good, I wish I were making it.’ He may have said something one time on Lost with Damon [Lindelof], but I never hear him express regret like that,” he told The Washington Post.
