John Boyega is starring in a new movie called Imperial Dreams, and it’s a far cry from The Force Awakens.

The 23-year-old actor plays an ex-con named Bambi struggling with poverty as he raises his son and pursues his dream of writing in Watts’s Imperial Courts housing project.

John was cast in The Force Awakens just after the movie premiered at Sundance in 2014. The movie is getting a boost now that its star is featured in the highest grossing North American film ever!
