Brie Larson gives her mom a hug and thanks her for all the support during her first ever opening monologue for Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 7).

The 26-year-old Oscar-winning actress opened the show with a Mother’s Day themed monologue, and joked that every kid should watch her intense movie Room with their moms for the holiday.

Brie let the guys of the cast send messages to their mom on stage, including one who pretended Brie was the imaginary girlfriend he’d been telling his mom about all this time.
