Pharrell Williams Says 'Individuality Is The New Wealth'!

Pharrell Williams gives photographers the peace sign while attending the launch of his new Yoobi x i am OTHER Back-To-School Collection held at The Mark on Thursday (August 11) in Los Angeles.

The 43-year-old entertainer was joined by Christina Milian and Modern Family‘s Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as he celebrated the collection, which consists of more than 50 unique school supply essentials: including inspirational and brightly colored designs that were shaped by kids themselves, encouraging them to embrace their individuality and “OTHERness.”

“Individuality is the new wealth,” Pharrell told E! News. “What is it when a person doesn’t understand who they are? What is at the basis of their voice? What is the basis of their meaning? What could they mean? If they don’t know who they are, how would they know who they could be?”

“We think individuality is super important because that which makes you different makes you special,” Pharrell added. “People can be honest about who they are, and they recognize that their differences are not things to be ashamed of, but these really special attributes actually give you your identity.”
