Prince Jackson Opens Up About Wearing Masks as a Child

Prince Jackson, the son of the late Michael Jackson, has given a rare interview in which he opens up about wearing masks as a child to keep his privacy.

The 19-year-old says that his father told him not to trust everyone as many people would want to interact with him because of his family.

“My dad spoke to me like an adult. He told us the reason for the masks was he wanted us to have our own life without him,” Prince said. He told the Los Angeles Times that he and his siblings were able to keep their privacy when out and about without their father as they were unrecognizable. “I don’t think I ever thought about if other kids lived like that when I was younger. But once I knew who he was, I realized it wasn’t normal.”

“Everyone thinks I’m going to do music and dance,” Prince said while admitting he can’t do either. “Music is a big part of my life. It shaped who I am because of my family, but I’ve always wanted to go into production. My dad would ask me what I wanted to do and my answer was always producing and directing.”
