Seth Rogen Enters 'Uncharted Territory' With 'Sausage Party' Awards Push!

Seth Rogen is hoping his raunchy R-rated animated film Sausage Party gets recognized this awards season!

“We’ve never been this passionate about a film and we’re thrilled to enter uncharted territory,” Seth told THR about lining up screenings, mailers, ads and more as part of their awards season push. “It’s rare you really get to break new ground, and we hope that people view it as a good thing for the medium.”

“Academy members are way smarter and more forward-thinking than people realize,” Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman added. “They want to recognize bold, original, risky breakthroughs, and that’s what Sausage Party is, however subversive. Plus, it’s just plain cool.”

Seth, 34, and co-star Kristen Wiig hosted a special screening for Sausage Party last night (November 13) at NYIT, which was followed by a after party at the Empire Rooftop in New York City.
