Mark Hamill Delivers Touching Tribute to Carrie Fisher at 'Star Wars' Celebration

Mark Hamill paid a special tribute to his friend and co-star Carrie Fisher at the 2017 Star Wars Celebration.

The 65-year-old actor took to the stage on Friday afternoon (April 14) for a “group therapy” session to celebrate Carrie‘s life.

“She would want us to be having fun and laughing – that’s what she was all about, so my intent is to honor her and acknowledge her extraordinary contribution to our lives and not let us be consumed with grief,” he told the audience.

Between stories of hilarious moments on set with Carrie and how they broke out into a giggle fit after making out, Mark expressed how hard it has been dealing with her loss.

Mark added, “Life goes on. It is tragic you can’t dress it up, but I bounce around the stages of grief, and just when I come – I never think of her in the past tense, and just when I think I’ve reached acceptance, I bounce back to anger.”

Mark also took the chance to thank fans for helping him get through the loss.
