'Walking Dead' Star Josh McDermitt Quits Social Media After Receiving Death Threats

Josh McDermitt has decided to delete all of his social media accounts after receiving death threats over his character on The Walking Dead.

The 38-year-old actor plays Eugene on the hit show and his character drastically changed during the seventh season, and fans were not happy.

In his last Facebook Live video, Josh told fans and cyberbullies not to confuse his real identity with the character he plays on TV.

“Don’t send me death threat,” Josh said. “I’m just sick of it. You can hate Eugene, I don’t care. You can think whatever you want, but when you start saying you hope I die, I don’t know if you’re talking about Josh or Eugene.”

Season eight of The Walking Dead will premiere in October.
