Angelina Jolie Says Her Mom Would Have 'Thrived as a Grandmother'

Angelina Jolie is opening up about her late mother Marcheline Bertrand in a new interview.

The 41-year-old actress talked with Marianne Pearl, who she portrayed in the 2007 movie A Mighty Heart, for the new issue of Elle France.

“She would have thrived as a grandmother,” Angelina said when she was asked about how she tells her six kids about their grandma.

“I know how much she would have contributed to their lives and I am sad they will miss out on that,” she added. “I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.”

Marcheline passed away in January 2007 after a battle with ovarian cancer.
