Melissa Benoist On Playing Carole King in ‘Beautiful’ on Broadway: ‘She’s Her Own Kind of Supergirl’
Melissa Benoist just made her Broadway debut!
The 29-year-old actress took the stage as Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at The Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Thursday night (June 7) in New York City.

After the show, Melissa was surprised by a visit from her former Supergirl co-star Lynda Carter.
“She is her own kind of Supergirl,” she shared about Carole. “She’s a normal person, and that’s how she saw herself, but she isn’t—specifically in this time in her life that we portray. Because she is a creative genius.”
Just last week, Melissa was seen out at the United Airlines Presents: #StarsInTheAlley annual event.
