The Female Stars of 'Game of Thrones' Open Up About the Show Coming to an End

Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Lena Headey and Gwendoline Christie are featured inside of British Vogue‘s April 2019 issue, out now.

Here’s what the leading ladies of Game of Thrones had to say…

Lena, on what Cersei would do to Harvey Weinstein: “Hotdogs for sale.”

Sophie, on the last day of filming: “I couldn’t control myself. I cried for hours and hours once it wrapped. It was like leaving behind a character that I’ve grown up with. It’s almost like a death.”

Maisie, on being part of the upcoming fight scene which took 55 nights to film: “All the training in the world couldn’t have prepared me for the amount of stamina you needed for these night shoots, it gets to the point where it’s four o’clock in the morning and you’re looking around like, ‘This is ridiculous. What are we doing?”‘

Sophie on the role of women in the show: “There are some people who make comments like, ‘It’s a misogynistic show because all these women are getting raped.’ [But] most of the people coming out on top are women.”

Maisie on the role of women in the show: “I’d say the key players this season are all female.”

Gwendoline on her character: “I do see Brienne of Tarth as a modern day Joan of Arc.”
