Shay Mitchell Reveals Why She Held Off on Announcing Her Pregnancy

Shay Mitchell just released the first video for her Almost Ready video series, which leads up to the birth of her new baby.

In the video, the 32-year-old actress tearfully opened up about going through the loss of losing her first child and why she hold off on announcing her pregnancy.

“I chose to hold on until I announced because of the first time. It didn’t go as I had hoped for, and it was extremely difficult,” she says.

Shay continues, “The first time that I was pregnant last year, Matte [Babel] and I hadn’t been planning, it happened and we were really excited about it. I was like 14 weeks, at that point, I had no idea the percentage of miscarriages. When it happened I was just, completely blindsided by it.”

In a tearful moment, Shay also revealed that she still has the pictures of her ultrasound photos on her phone and footage of her visits to the doctor.

“And it’s weird because, I haven’t looked at them, obviously,” Shay says. “But, it’s not like I forgot about that happening, so of course I’m like super happy, but I still feel for that one that I lost.”

Shay and partner Matte announced they were having a baby girl in a action filled gender reveal party earlier this month.
