Here's the Reason Why Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Announced Their Plans to Step Down So Quickly

The royal family was reportedly blindsided by the abrupt announcement made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that they planned to step away from the royal family and become financially independent.

Reports emerged that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan only gave senior members of the family a 10 minute heads up that they were going to announce their news.

Well, apparently the sudden nature of the announcement happened because UK newspaper The Sun got word of their plan and was going to reveal the news.

“It was the paper’s front page hours before the official announcement, so Harry and Meghan technically didn’t beat them to it,” a source told Us Weekly about the pre-printed front page that was going to be released the day they announced.

In addition, The Sun‘s Dan Wootton told Us Weekly that he learned of the news and reached out to the Sussex PR team 11 days before their announcement.
