The View's Joy Behar Takes Time Off Due to Coronavirus Fears: 'I'm in a Higher Risk Group'

Joy Behar is stepping away from The View for the time being.

The 77-year-old comedian and talk show host made the announcement on Thursday (March 12) during a pre-taped episode of The View that will air on Friday, Variety reports.

While neither Joy nor any other staff members have tested positive for coronavirus, Joy says her daughter wants her to stay home and safe.

“I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy,” Joy said. “I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”

Joy Behar will not appear on the show next week, and she’ll decide when to come back after that.

The other co-hosts – including Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin – will remain on the show. The View has joined other programs that have stopped filming in front of a live audience.
