Dolly Parton Says That Coronavirus is a Lesson From God

Dolly Parton wants fans all over the world to keep the faith amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The 74-year-old country icon starts out singing in her latest Instagram, before switching to a sweet talk to her fans.

“I’m not making light of the situation. Well, maybe I am, because it’s the light, I believe, that’s gonna dissolve the situation,” she says. “I think God is in this, I really do. I think he’s trying to hold us up to the light so we can see ourselves and see each other through the eyes of love. And I hope we learn that lesson.”

Dolly continued, “I think that when this passes, we’re gonna all be better people. I know that I have a positive attitude about it, as negative as it seems to be right now. So just keep the faith, don’t be too scared, it’s gonna be alright, God loves us.”

Later this week, Dolly will be launching a new video series entitled “Goodnight With Dolly” which will see her reading children’s books that have been “carefully chosen for their appropriate content at this moment in time” on Thursday nights.

The series will launch April 2nd at 7:00 p.m. EST, on the YouTube channel for her Imagination Library, and will run for 10 weeks.
