Demi Lovato Will 'Forever Cherish' Starring as Naya Rivera's Girlfriend on 'Glee'

Demi Lovato is reacting to the news that Naya Rivera has died after a six day search concluded today after she went missing.

The 27-year-old singer posted a tribute to Naya, whom she starred with on Glee for a short time as her girlfriend.

“RIP Naya Rivera. I’ll forever cherish the opportunity to play your girlfriend on Glee,” Demi wrote.

She continues, “The character you played was groundbreaking for tons of closeted queer girls (like me at the time) and open queer girls, and your ambition and accomplishments were inspiring to Latina women all over the world.”

“My heart goes out to your loved ones at this time.. ❤️🕊”

Demi starred as Dani on the series in season 5, Santana’s one time girlfriend before she reconciled with Brittany (Heather Morris).
