Tommy Dorfman's Husband Peter Zurkuhlen Wrote the Sweetest Message After She Came Out as a Trans Woman

Tommy Dorfman‘s husband Peter Zurkuhlen showed his support after the entertainer came out as a trans woman this week.

Peter took to his Instagram Stories on Thursday evening (July 22) to repost Tommy‘s gorgeous portrait from Time magazine and he added a sweet message of his own.

“So much love. You are gorgeous and you are fully you. Proud of you, T,” he wrote, along with a purple heart emoji.

Tommy has explained that her marriage with Peter has changed and she explained how they’ve redefined their relationship.

“It’s wild to be 29 and going through puberty again. Some days I feel like I’m 14. As a result of that shift, the types of romantic partnerships I seek out are different,” Tommy said in the Time interview. “I was in a nine-year relationship in which I was thought of as a more male-bodied person, with a gay man. I love him so much, but we’ve been learning that as a trans woman, what I’m interested in is not necessarily reflected in a gay man. So we’ve had incredible conversations to redefine our relationship as friends. Transitioning has been liberating and clarifying.”

Tommy just made her first public appearance since coming out as a trans woman.
