David Henrie as a Young Ronald Reagan in 'Reagan' with Ryan Whitney Newman (Exclusive First Look)

David Henrie will be playing a young Ronald Reagan in the upcoming film Reagan, which will be the first full-length feature film about the 40th U.S. president.

The former Wizards of Waverly Place actor plays the president as a teenager and young adult opposite Ryan Whitney Newman as his first love, Margaret “Mugs” Cleaver. We have the first exclusive photos of them in the movie together!

The film, which will be released in 2022, was shot in Oklahoma and California. The movie follows Reagan‘s journey from his childhood in Dixon, IL to Hollywood to the White House.

The cast also includes Dennis Quaid as the adult Reagan, Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman, Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher, Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner and Jon Voight as the KGB agent who tracked Reagan for 40 years.

Reagan is directed by Sean McNamara, who previously worked with Quaid on the film Soul Surfer.
