Ryan Reynolds Makes Surprise Appearance on 'Antiques Roadshow' To Get Cleopatra's Egg From 'Red Notice' Appraised

Ryan Reynolds popped up on the newest episode of Antiques Roadshow this week and shocked many fans by his appearance.

The 45-year-old actor was there to get one of the coveted Cleopatra’s Eggs, from his new movie Red Notice, appraised by Lark Mason.

As Lark asks Ryan what he knows about the Egg, Ryan sidelines questions about his family history and if it was an heirloom for him.

“This isn’t a family heirloom,” he says. “My family disowned me. They don’t like me. It’s more of an heirloom that my good friend at the museum lent me…He’s not aware that he lent it to me.”

Lark then says that it “sounds a little complicated. So, that’s perhaps going to play into the value, because of regulatory issues.”

“Yes, there will be a lot of issues,” Ryan smirks.

Lark then reveals the history of the fictional artifact as one of a set of three golden eggs “commissioned by Cleopatra at the end of her life” in 30 BC. Two, he said, can be found in “public collections,” but one of them “disappeared” during World War II — pilfered by German soldiers and hidden at a secure location “up until recently.”

Ryan then asks about the monetary value of the Egg.

“If we could clear up the complications of how you acquired it, this could sell for over $100 million at auction,” Lark says.

Ryan then says: “$100 million, though? Wow.”

After the skit aired, Ryan shared it to his personal Instagram, writing in the caption: “The #RedNotice scene I wish I’d shot.”
