Princess Charlene Enters Treatment Facility, Husband Prince Albert Confirms

Princess Charlene is getting treatment.

In an interview, he revealed that Princess Charlene is suffering with “exhaustion, both emotional and physical,” requiring clinical care lasting several weeks at minimum.

The news comes just after Princess Charlene cancelled her upcoming appearance at Monaco’s National Day, citing health issues, and just days after her return to Monaco after spending a majority of the last year in South Africa.

He said her return “went pretty well in the first few hours, and then it became pretty evident that she was unwell.”

As far as their relationship turmoil rumors, he said: “I’m probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear. These are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It’s of a different nature.”

He went on to explain her current state is because “of several factors which are private matters,” adding that “she was clearly exhausted, physically and emotionally. She was overwhelmed and couldn’t face official duties, life in general or even family life.”

“Obviously there were consequences of her different surgeries and the procedures she underwent in the last few months. That certainly was a factor, but at this point I prefer not to comment further. I can say she was suffering incredible fatigue. She hadn’t slept well in a number of days and she wasn’t eating at all well. She has lost a lot of weight, which made her vulnerable to other potential ailments. A cold or the flu or God help us, COVID,” he continued.

“Because I know there are rumors out there, let me say: This is not COVID. And it’s not cancer-related. It’s not a personal relationship issue. And if you want to discuss another speculation, it isn’t related to plastic surgery or facial work at all.”
